Sherpa Services and coronavirus – delayed decommission of the v.1 Sherpa Romeo API

As the world reacts and adapts to the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, we would like to assure you that the health and safety of our members, stakeholders and staff is our highest priority.

In line with government advice, all Jisc staff are now working from home and our offices are currently closed. Read Jisc’s statement about ongoing service support and assistance during the coronavirus outbreak (https://www.jisc.ac.uk/about/corporate/coronavirus-statement).

Apart from a change of location, it is business as usual for us, and we are here to help you in any way that we can.

We have been reviewing the public responses to the test releases of our established policy and compliance services, Sherpa Romeo and Sherpa Fact. The feedback we are receiving from developers suggests that the community will struggle to upgrade their API connectors by the existing API switch-off date (14 April 2020).

In recognition of this, we have decided to delay decommissioning the existing Sherpa Romeo API until 31 July 2020.

Drop-In API migration help

In addition to the above, and to assist you with any questions you may have around migration of your services to the new Sherpa APIs, we have organised several user drop-in sessions via Zoom over the coming weeks, please click on a date below to register :

The format will be questions and answers, and we would encourage you to join at any time during the hour to discuss your Sherpa Services issues.
