Future Science Group supplies full-text articles to Publications Router

Future Science Group now supplies full-text articles to Jisc’s Publications Router service for onward distribution to institutional repositories. This includes content from journals published under its three imprints, Future Science, Future Medicine and Newlands Press.

Their journals focus on applied science and intellectual property issues in R&D. Future Medicine addresses information needs in clinical and translational medicine and the biosciences.

Timely delivery – includes subscription content

The feeds are sent daily, as each article is published – at their “ahead of print” stage where applicable, before the article has been assigned to a journal issue. The majority will arrive at institutions’ systems within two months of acceptance, in plenty of time to meet the REF deadline.

The full text supplied is the version of record. It may initially lack some of the final publication details, in which case a second notification tops up these missing items when the journal issue is published.

For subscription content, the accompanying rich metadata includes the embargo end date and the licence that then applies. Future Science Group is also supplying gold open access content – whether in wholly OA or hybrid journals – in which case the metadata indicates the relevant open licence, and there is no embargo.

Router delivers straight into institutions systems

Publications Router matches the incoming notifications to participating institutions based largely on the affiliations of the (co-) authors. It then transforms them into a format matched to the target institution’s system and delivers them for automatic ingest – subject to institutions’ usual review procedures.
